Stock Watch: Serve Robotics Rockets 38.8% on Earnings, SoftBank Slumps 10.8% as Tokyo Goes All Red

Friday flipped the script. Serve Robotics exploded 38.79% to $3.22 after a huge third-quarter beat and a raised full-year guide, Mobileye jumped 11.7%, Lucid 10.4%, SpaceX 8.62% and Tesla 4.23% to $358.22. The SOX snapped back 4.21%. Tokyo, trading the overnight hangover from Thursday’s AI/chip rout, went the other way: SoftBank Group sank 10.83%, the Nikkei 225 lost 5.96%, and every one of our 23 Tokyo names closed red after Thursday’s Toyota fireworks.

The top take

  • Serve Robotics (SERV) $3.22, +38.79%. Best day on our board by a mile. After the close on Thursday, Serve reported third-quarter revenue of $2.8 million, up 313% year over year, and lifted full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $12 million from a prior $9–$10 million range while cutting non-GAAP operating-expense guidance to $150 million (Serve Robotics, Benzinga). Recurring revenue was 69% of the mix, daily active robots averaged 917, and the company launched Serve Physical AI Services to sell its stack to other robot makers. Five-day: +23.85%. Still −68.98% for the year.
  • Tesla (TSLA) $358.22, +4.23%. Partial bounce after Thursday’s 10.77% wipeout. The company-specific spark was Elon Musk saying Tesla will wind down Cybertruck production at Giga Texas around mid-2027 to free floor space for Cybercab (Not a Tesla App, CNBC, Reuters via Investing.com). We covered the wind-down in depth earlier (EVX News). Five-day is still −10.40% and YTD −20.35%. Separately, Musk said Tesla will likely rent Optimus rather than sell it (Not a Tesla App).
  • SpaceX (SPCX) $134.27, +8.62%. Biggest rebound in the Musk-verse after Thursday’s 9.05% drop. Now just 0.54% under the $135 IPO price. Same risk-on bounce as Tesla, with no company-specific bad news. Five-day: −0.33%.
  • Mobileye (MBLY) $5.73, +11.7% and Lucid (LCID) $3.29, +10.4%. Mobileye led the autonomy rebound with heavy volume after several sessions of selling. Lucid extended its choppy week higher with no company release of its own ahead of next week’s third-quarter report. Rivian added 2.41% to $13.61. GM fell 3.55% and Ford 0.72%.
  • Nvidia (NVDA) $186.64, +2.78% and the chip bounce. After Thursday’s 9.26% hit, Nvidia and the PHLX Semiconductor Index (+4.21% to 9,390.25) clawed some of it back. Symbotic rose 5.08%, ChargePoint 5.75%, SolarEdge 5.00% and First Solar 2.75%. Sunrun held onto most of Thursday’s earnings pop, up another 1.11% to $9.98 (five-day +33.42%). Eighteen of our 23 US names closed green.
  • The indexes. The Dow slipped 0.46% to 51,285.73, the S&P 500 rose 0.31% to 7,376.86 and the Nasdaq Composite 1.09% to 24,579.425. SOX +4.21% to 9,390.25 (CNBC).

Tokyo corner

Tokyo had nowhere to hide. The Nikkei 225 sank 3,643.13 points (−5.96%) to 57,434.77 and TOPIX 5.90% to 3,707.99, tracking Thursday’s Wall Street AI and chip rout (Nasdaq −5.5%, SOX −12.25%) into the Friday session (Kabutan, Japan Times). SoftBank Group led the damage. All 23 of our Tokyo names closed red — profit-taking after Toyota’s 16.68% earnings surge a day earlier did the rest for the carmakers.

Closing prices for Friday, November 6, 2026 on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Day % is the change from Thursday’s close, 5-day % compares with the October 29 close, and YTD % compares with the December 30, 2025 close. At ¥158.45 per dollar, ¥1,000 is about $6.31. Spot-checked against Kabutan: Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi Motors, Advantest, Tokyo Electron, SoftBank Group, Harmonic Drive, Yaskawa and Panasonic all matched; Nikkei and TOPIX matched CNBC and Kabutan.

SoftBank Group fell 10.83% to ¥3,549 (about $22). China notified SoftBank on Nov. 4 that it had prohibited the acquisition of ABB’s robotics business in China, and SoftBank confirmed the block in a Nov. 6 release while saying it is still talking with ABB (SoftBank Group, The Robot Report, Japan Times). Arm ADRs had also been hit hard overnight, and SoftBank’s AI-heavy book took the follow-through. Five-day: −25.52%.

Automakers gave back a chunk of Thursday’s party. Mitsubishi Motors −8.97%, Nissan −7.86%, Subaru −5.72%, Honda −5.69%, Toyota −5.52% to ¥3,338 (about $21). Robotics and chips stayed ugly: Yaskawa −8.38%, Nabtesco −8.04%, Harmonic Drive −7.66%, Fanuc −6.03%, Tokyo Electron −5.60%, Advantest −4.99%. Sony was the least-bad tech name, down just 1.64%.

What to watch

  • Next week: Lucid’s third-quarter report. After Wednesday’s spike, Thursday’s giveback and Friday’s 10.4% rebound, the call will decide whether the bounce sticks.
  • Serve Robotics follow-through. A 38.79% day on a guidance hike is loud. Watch whether Physical AI Services and the Australia launch keep showing up in the numbers (Serve).
  • SoftBank–ABB. SoftBank says talks with ABB continue after China’s block of the China piece of the robotics deal (SoftBank).
  • Dec 3: Tesla’s 2026 shareholder meeting at Giga Texas — votes are open (Not a Tesla App).

The EVX Take

Two tapes, one Friday. In the US, Serve reminded everyone that a real robotics beat still moves a stock, and Tesla’s Cybercab-over-Cybertruck call gave bulls a company-specific reason to buy the dip. In Tokyo, SoftBank’s China ABB setback plus the hangover from Thursday’s chip rout wiped the board — including the automakers that had just printed a 16% Toyota day. For readers in Japan, the SoftBank/ABB robotics block and a red Yaskawa/Fanuc tape matter more than one US bounce: Japan’s robot suppliers just got another reminder that AI and factory-automation trades can reverse hard overnight.

Prices: Yahoo Finance, cross-checked against CNBC quotes for every US-listed ticker (closes and day % matched), against stockanalysis.com for BYD and all 23 Tokyo names (matched), and against Kabutan for nine Tokyo names plus the Nikkei and TOPIX. stockanalysis.com was still showing stale intraday snapshots for most US tickers at publish time, so CNBC was the second source for the US board. USD/JPY: CNBC. Index levels: CNBC; Nikkei and TOPIX: Kabutan and CNBC.
